This book is about a brother and sister named Whitford and Wisteria Allgood, they had the perfect family, friends, school, and just in general a perfect life. Until one night when the government had not just taken them from their lives but ripped everything from them, and on top of that the government had claimed that these two normal kids had Powers like in Harry Potter, that they could cast spells and other things like this. So they sent the brother and sister to a cellar/prison type thing and locked them up inside and never let the two see daylight. Whit and Whisty had not exactly enjoyed their stay at hotel creep out, because not only was it a small room for each of them including no light and one nasty old bathroom to share, they also had to deal with the horrifying guards standing watch over the two dimly lit cells.
Whisty then later decides that being locked up in a horror fun house is no fun at all and tell her brother that they need to leave, and somehow they manage to use their powers which they have never used before to unlock the cell doors. Next to them were those big goofs just sleeping on the job, which made it easier for them to escape. On the way out all they can hear in the long, brick lined walls are the echos of their feet splashing against the water on the floor, until one moment when they hear a loud and frightening roar that sounded like a lion but when they reached the odd sound it was no lion but a huge 3 headed slobbering growling dog. Who had the biggest bright red eyes, with claws that could rip apart anything, and there was no way of getting around this beast, but some how they did.

why did i choose Witch and Wizard
I chose this book because first of all the cover looked quite interesting to, it is the letter W covered in flames with a black background and at the ends of the flames there are two faces those two faces are the main characters which i thought was cool. When ever i choose a book i normally read the brief summary on the back which i did do with this book. Just reading the first line had intrigued me to keep reading, and when i got to the end it said " And then you were told that everything you loved-- your books, your music, your pictures-- were banned forever". Don't you want to see why everything would be taken from you i know i did.
Another reason why i chose this book is because some of my friends had read it and said it was a great read and that i should take a look at it. Sometimes when others tell me to try a book i don't really like the book that much because it is not my first choice in genre of books. But this book was the exact genre that i love to read, plus once i started reading one the third page there was action happening which doesn't really happen in a book and that was what really made me read this book.

Blog Reflection
Click here to view my best blog post. I think that my post of reading skills follows the rubrics requirements quite well. The rubric say to have in my post a text- to self, world, and text connection; and in my post I had all of them. Here is the text-to-text connection A text-to-text connection is the amount of action and mystery in the first chapter of this book acts like the action and mystery in my summer reading book Just After Sunset. Already in the beginning of each book there was a problem.. Since I had just started the book I had many questions about what might happen in the book.
Next trimester I want to read the next two books of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and see what happens to all the characters. I also want to start to write, free write not long stories, just five minutes a day to practice my writing skills. Another goal I have for reading next trimester is to read more then three days a week, maybe to read five to six days a week. I want to improve my reading skills like how complex the writing/storyline is like.

Analysis
In the last chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows it is 19 years after Harry had defeated Voldemort and him, Ron, and Hermione have all grown up and have children, their children also go to Hogwarts now as well. "Two large cages rattled on the top of the laden trolleys the parents were pushing; the owls inside them hooted indignantly, and the redhead girl trailed tearfully behind her brothers, clutching her fathers arm." (Rowling 502) I infer that Harry's children will do great things just like he did and that they too will help the witch and wizard community very much. Like saving the school from death eaters attacking everyone, or helping the head master with many tasks. "Don't duel anyone till you've learned how." (Rowling 605)

Theme and Summary
For my theme and summary post i am going to do it one the other book i have been reading other than Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because i have not done any posts on it so far. The other book i am reading is the seventh book of the Harry Potter series called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The theme of this book i think is, go after what you believe is right to do not what others think you should do. This theme as changed really quite a bit throughout the book because the main characters Harry, Ron, and Hermione are constantly battling what each of them think they should do to fight or destroy Voldemort. I couldnt really understand or find the theme in the book until i got to almost or really the end of the book, which i guess there were little themes that were spread out here and there in some of the chapters that i did not think would be the theme. It came to me when Harry was going up to Voldemort and forgot what everyone was telling him to do and just thought what he should do, and he did exactly what Harry potter would do, not listen to what anyone says and follow your gut.
In the Deathly Hallows so far Harry, Ron ,and Hermione have ran away from their home to find a way to kill Voldemort, many many days of looking through books and different cities they found what they have to do to kill him. What they have to do is they must find and destroy seven horcruxes. If you don't know what a horcrux is here is an article to help you out http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Horcrux. Now finding these things are not easy because each one could be anywhere and once you find and destroy one you have to start over with the next one and so on, they have destroyed already 6 out of the 7 horcruxes. Right now they are stuck trying to find the seventh one but they don't know it is right under their noses, and the horcrux is... in the book which you are going to have to read to find out what happens with the last horcrux.

Does anyone think back to that first day of school and think, wow why was i so scared and nervous to go to this school. I know i do. I realized that this school isn't actually as big as it seems and it is pretty easy to get around to all of your classes once you have the general idea down. The food is way better than the middle school i think, and the school in general is a lot better then the middle school. Who else thinks this way about Mason High School?

characters
One complex character is Elizabeth who i talk quite a bit about because that is who the story mainly revolves around, which really she makes the theme or kind of molds it from what it already is. In the beginning of the story she was very shy and kept to herself most or really all of the time, but now i am almost done with the book and Elizabeth now is very outspoken and a kind of person who can't be quiet just for a second. Elizabeth constantly interacts with other characters in the book but not in a way most people would, in fact the only way she would really interact with them is if she was kicking them in the face or taking them into custody, which then is when she would say her name and sarcastically talk about herself and also if she is talking to a character who was in the holding room to be questioned about the case. so lets just say Elizabeth is not a very friendly person.
Exit slip: Girl with the dragon tattoo
The mood of my book is exciting because Elizabeth and her partner always get into trouble when on the job or when they have found a new lead on the case that involves going to other countries. Like the time when They had talked the dad of the girl who died and he was telling them everything he knew about the killer or killers. "All i know is that other than my daughter being kill there were also several other murders... but what i found was odd was that all the people who were killed all are Jewish." (Larson 103).
A moment in my book when Elizabeth swayed the beliefs of another character is when the FBI had given her a partner she had persuaded them to not give her a partner in solving the crime for a little while until they came to their senses and realized that was a bad idea. Her tone impacted this because her tone was forceful so when she was telling the officers to let her go do this case on her own she used threats to get her way, like saying she would quit or not do the case at all, and they NEEDED her on this case.

So on the news i have heard that a deadly disease in the lakes and rivers of Florida. They said that so far it has killed over 20 people and they don't know how to stop it, if were you i would not want to go to a lake in Florida anytime soon. The scientists in Florida have said that it is a brain killing amoeba which just means that it is single celled and once in your system it goes straight to your brain and when you have a problem in your brain the outcome normally isn't good. The people who got this amoeba died within ten days of getting it. So don't swim in rivers and lakes in Florida!
Book Recommendation
If you like action, mystery, or any type of book than this is the one for you. This book has absolutely everything in it, what every type of book genre you like this book mast likely has it. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars rating although this book is one of the best i have ever read there are some parts which can be confusing or a bit boring to some. Don't even get me started on the amount of vivid descriptions and amazing syntax/word choice i mean it feels like you are standing there watching everything happen right in front of you, because of this it gets you so hooked on not wanting to stop reading it just to see what come next. So the main Character is a girl from Russia and was recruited to the FBI because she was the best cop in Russia. She doesn't have a name so they gave her one now her name is Elizabeth, she is helping solve a murder case of a 16 year old girl that has been closed for a very long time. now to see what happens to Elizabeth and her case you will have to read Girl With the Dragon Tattoo By: Stieg Lasrson

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ch. 4-6
In the beginning of the book i understood why Elizabeth was running away from the Russian authorities because she had done so many horrible things there so she went to the united States for safety. Now i am in the middle of the book and it is getting very confusing, the FBI has recruited her, a thief and crazy lady who is not even a US citizen to help them solve a murder case that nobody could solve. So my questions are why would they ask her to do such a thing where just by taking one look at her people think she belonged in jail. I mean i understand she was one of the best police officers in Russian until she went crazy. The murder that she is trying to solve is a case that has been closed for over 40 years and has now been reopened because she came. A wealthy mans daughter was murdered during a parade when she was only 16 years old and back then they couldn't figure out who had done it but now Elizabeth believes she has found the killer, maybe she is not so bad.

Reading Skills
Some predictions and questions i have on the book Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are how does she already one the first page have trouble with the government. Also how can she just run off without telling anyone anything about where she is going. One prediction i have about how she might have already gotten into government trouble is if she had stolen quite a bit of money from more then one back or jewelry store to help her live on her own, which then led her to run off without telling anyone. A text-to-world connection is the type of government system they have in her city, the have a direct democracy just like our government system. A text-to-self connection is so far in the book the main character is always confused about what to do and where to go which i do all the time. A text-to-text connection is the amount of action and mystery in the first chapter of this book acts like the action and mystery in my summer reading book Just After Sunset. Already in the beginning of each book there was a problem.

The theme of the book Just After Sunset By Stephen King, i believe is mystery and loss. Mystery in this book are not crimes but more like confusion of an unexplained occurrence. In the beginning the main character is teleported to the future which then leads to even more confusing situations. Eventually though a solution is found and all is good until again something unusual happens in a ordinary town. This quote is to help explain the theme mystery in the book "Blur of forest was very unlike him), and you
could read how weary these men were in every feature of their faces. It was
even in the sweat-stains on the collars of their shirts. Above them, the sky
was queer organic red” (King 119). The other Theme in the book was loss. Here you would find that at the end of each short story there would be a solution and as a down side there would also be a loss of a character or hometown. “Her head snapped to the side. Her hair flew
against her cheek, and she felt blood begin to flow into her mouth as her lower
lip burst. The inner lining had been cut by her teeth, and deep. Almost all the
way through, it felt like. Outside, the rain rushed down. I’m going to die while it’s raining” (King 46). This quote describes how although she had found out what happened in the disappearance it had back fired on her and because she knew what happened that day she had to pay for it. which in the end she was the loss in that story.
This article explains all the main points in the book including the themes loss and mystery.
